Original ad showed $40K markdown on new homes in Palm Coast. Here is the new ad, with no mention of markdown, just prices as low as $70/sq ft. Wasn't the standard in Florida $150/sq ft??????

Wow, those are big cuts. Has anyone seen anything like that in Tampa? Also, is DR Horton a good builder? Are there any good builders anymore. I'm from Tampa but have been living in OH for the last five years and will be moving back.
It still sickens me to see that a builder can slash their prices by 85,000 and still be over charging for homes. I remember five years ago when you could buy a gorgeous home in Florida for 150,000. Back then spending that much was a lot of money for a home and a over the top dream home would set you back $ 200,000.
Will we ever see these times again? If not how will our children ever afford to purchase homes. This housing saga is playing out like a soap opera and I sit on the edge of my chair dieing to see tomorrows episode. Until the next time on "As The Homes Turn".
I am wonding how much the extremely overvalued areas of SE and SW Florida are causing buyers to come back up further in the State? I think this is supporting the relatively stable prices in places like Daytona and JAX. After seeing Miami numbers, northern buyers think Ocala is a steal! Gordo NYC
That ad has disappeared from the link. Here's a replacement: $70/sf

Many thanks, anon...updated!
I live in Ormond Beach area, down the road from Palm Coast...
I can tell you, that I am watching a disaster in the making with ICI Builders/Developers....
They have got a Street in Plantation Bay Golf Course Community, where they have at least 50 to 60 homes on one street
[Harwick] where homes are in various stages of construction...from completed to foundations coming out of the ground....It appears that only 1 is sold to a flipper, all the rest are moving to completion, with ONLY a skelton crew working on them....These houses are mostly in the $450K area...
This is in addition to all their other homes available for sale...
!!!!! WATCH FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS WITH ICI...[a private corporation]
Things could REALLY get interesting with these guys...!!!
